Our team are a pivotal part of what we do. Here, we meet Samantha Brannigan, who is has taken on the role of Financial Adviser, having worked as a Paraplanner on our Technical Team for over 11 years.
Samantha joined Gresham in 2010, initially in an administrative support role but quickly progressed to become a Paraplanner. Having been with the firm from the beginning, Samantha is one of our longest-standing team members. Alongside her day-to-day role, Samantha plays an active part in the firm’s fundraising activities, being the key orchestrator behind our annual Barnardo’s charity donation.
My favourite aspect of my job is…
Finishing a report or a piece of work and knowing that your recommendations can make a difference to a client’s financial position, be this improving tax efficiencies or helping to meet their financial goals. I always like to see how the recommendations have panned out along with the difference they have made when it comes to reviewing a client’s portfolio on an annual basis.
In my spare time I like to…
Hit the gym / get out in the fresh air for a walk, read and spend time with my family & friends. Life can be fast-paced at times and taking time out to do things I enjoy or indulging in some self-care is key to striking a balance.

I used to love playing hockey when I was younger and was on my school hockey team.
The best piece of financial advice I’ve ever been given is…
Take control of your finances and review them regularly. Having a budget and incorporating short- and long-term savings into this where possible helps you be prepared for any short-term ad-hoc, requirements and also future plans / goals.
My favourite film is…
The original Matrix trilogy, I could watch them over and over. Although they are over 20 years old now, I just found the concept so original and mind blowing at the time of release.
My proudest moment is…
Being where I am today, investing in my personal development, passing my exams and becoming Chartered.
